Google Authorship vs. Publisher - Which is best?

Google releases the Publisher Plugin for WordPress AND Patrick Mower has some good information on the difference between Authorship and Publisher for Google+



"If Google Authorship is a digital signature, Publisher is company letterhead. Setting up a Publisher account tells Google to link each post on your website with your company’s G+ page. Any time your website appears in the SERPs, your G+ page information will display in the knowledge graph alongside it. The result of this is an increased footprint in the search results."

My takeaway: They are totally different. One is for a person, the other for a company. You should really do both since they will affect SERPS in different ways.
